Why Do Some People In The Service Industry Mumble Like The Hamburglar?
I recently came home from an overseas trip… and as I was flying into a major european air hub, the crew of the flight I was on thought it might be fun to see if they could sling a last minute “meal” down our gullets. As the steward was going up and do the aisles… he was asking if I wanted PANCAKES or Blhblhblh- Mumble – Mumble. I did not hear him, so I asked if he could repeat himself. He said in a louder voice *** PANCAKES **** or Blhblhblh- Mumble – Mumble. I almost started laughing… but then it occurred to me…. that either this guy honestly is trying to say what the other choice was…. or he was being a certified “bastage”… LOL.
I told the dude “I am sorry for being difficult… but I heard PANCAKES… but I still did not here the other choice”. He just looked at me… and said… “Pancakes and Blhblhblh- Mumble – Mumble”!
I finally gave up… LOL…and said… “I would very much like the pancakes sir” … he gave them to me… I opened the container… and was judging the “edibility” of the pancakes… and he had moved his car to the next person… where he said… “Madame, would you like the Pancakes or the Waffles”.
Doh! I could have had WAFFLES !!!!!
